Welcome!

The Hall, formerly known as the West Malvern Institute, was endowed to the Village by Deborah and Katherine Hopton in 1885, and following a very generous bequest from Maud Biggins, has been updated to provide a welcoming hall for the people of West Malvern and surrounding areas. Currently it is held in trust by the Worcestershire Diocese, and is managed by a small committee overseen by three local Trustees.

The Committee currently consists of ten volunteers and is run by our Chair Chris Mill. We are always looking for more people to join us and get involved. Please get in touch if you would like to join our friendly committee.

The Upper Hall (with kitchen facilities)

The main Upper Hall area consists of the larger hall attached to the main entrance way, the WC, storage areas, stacked chairs and tables for use, a stage area and a kitchen that is currently undergoing a complete renovation (completion photos will be available soon). The hall can safely hold up to 100 people. It has full disabled access.

The Lower Hall (Fisher Hall)

The Lower Hall (Fisher Hall) access is via the white door further along the main building. This room has recently been completely renovated with new paintwork, new lights, new carpet, new desks and new office chairs (arriving imminently!). There are 4 individual working spaces that can be hired per session for hot-desking or alternatively the whole communal space can be hired for meeting purposes. This is a quiet working environment with access to a WC. A coffee machine, wifi and heating are all available in this room to be used during the hire. The renovation will soon be complete with some additional technology available (smart whiteboard) for meetings.

The 100 club

The 100 club is a longstanding community based lottery club. The Hall Committee organise the club to help raise valuable funds for the maintenance and improvement of the hall and other community projects. Most recently the Lower Fisher hall has just completed a full renovation to provide a local hot-desking secure environment, whilst the kitchen is currently undergoing a radical refit. Looking forwards the Committee hope to update the Upper Hall including replacing many of the non-functioning windows.

A 100 club consists of a group of people who run a private society lottery to raise funds for a good cause. Members can buy numbered tickets that go into a regular draw. When the draw is made a percentage of the profit is given as a prize and the remainder to the agreed cause.

Our 100 club costs £1/month (£12/year) to buy a numbered ticket. This can be payable online, cash or cheque. Each month we run draw the winning tickets with the prize money totalling approximately £50, however the amount of prize money varies depending on the number of tickets sold. The more people that take part the higher the prize money! If you would like to get involved please complete the form below.
